Pet tickets cannot be booked on our website yet. You can book this from a customer sales agent at a station, SNCF shop or approved travel agency in France.

On French trains

 

Pets on board TGV trains

 

Pets on Intercités de Nuit (Night trains):

  • Maximum of 2 dogs or 2 pet carriers or 1 dog and 1 pet carrier per person
  • Dogs must be muzzled and on a lead
  • Small animals must be in a pet carrier (of dimensions no greater than 45x30x25cm) and weigh no more than 6 kilos
  • All animals need a pet ticket to travel
  • Domestic animals may only be taken on board provided they do not disturb other passengers

 

Pets on Intercités de jour (Day trains): 

  • Domestic animals are permitted on board provided other passengers do not object
  • Dogs must be muzzled and on a lead
  • Small domestic animals must be carried in a pet carrier (with dimensions no greater than 45x30x25cm and no heavier than 6kg)
  • All animals need a pet ticket to travel
  • Guide dogs travel for free and do not require a ticket
  • Maximum of 2 dogs or 2 pet carriers or 1 dog and 1 pet carrier per passenger

 

Pets on TER trains:

  • Domestic animals are permitted on board services provided other passengers do not object
  • Dogs must be muzzled and kept on a lead
  • All animals need a pet ticket to travel
  • Small domestic animals must be carried in a pet carrier (with dimensions no greater than 45x30x25 cm), and no heavier than 6kg
  • Guide dogs travel for free

On Eurostar trains (travel between France, Belgium and the UK)

  • Domestic animals in a pet carrier are permitted on board provided other passengers do not object
  • Only small domestic animals are permitted and must be carried in a pet carrier (with dimensions no greater than 50x30x25cm and no heavier than 5kg)
  • Dogs that weigh between 5kg and 50kg can be taken on board provided the whole compartment has been booked. Maximum of 1 dog per compartment.A supplement of around £50 is payable on board. In communal parts of the train the dog must be kept on a lead and wear a muzzle
  • It is free of charge to take a pet carrier on board
  • Guide dogs travel for free and do not require a ticket
